This is a belt that draws attention without feeling overdone. The Gianni Franco 14 Luciano in grey is handmade in Naples and made from calfskin from Tuscany – soft yet robust, with a slightly roughened surface that adds character immediately.
The grey tone combined with the detailed buckles and decorations in zamak gives a raw but well-thought-out feel. The turquoise imitations break up nicely and give the belt that classic western vibe, albeit in a more toned down and stylish way. It's a belt that does the job, but at the same time feels like something you've had in your closet for years – in that good way.
As always with Gianni Franco, it is 100% Made in Italy – from leather in Tuscany to buckles produced in Marche.
